Amazon October Prime Day liveblog: the best tech, PC and gaming deals as we find them
Welcome to our liveblog for Amazon's October Prime Day, aka Amazon Prime Big Deal Days. However you call it, this is a good opportunity to upgrade your PC or console gaming setup on a budget, and we'll be looking for the best deals all of today and tomorrow to help you.
The Logitech MX Keys Mini just had its price slashed for Prime Day
We've spotted a lovely reduction on one of our favourite mini scissor-actuated keyboards for Windows and macOS - the Logitech MX Keys Mini that takes it down to just £49.
It comes with some snappy scissor-actuated keys plus a thoughtful small form factor layout, vivid white backlighting and a lot of style. For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find better.
You can read more about it here.
Save nearly £100 on Apple's M4 Mac Mini for Prime Day from Amazon
TheM4 Mac Mini is easily one of our favourite Apple releases in recent times thanks to its even smaller chassis and beefy performance with that M4 chip.
For the big Prime Day sales bonanza, this base 16GB/256GB model has been knocked down to £502 from Amazon, marking out a near £100 saving on its £599 RRP. Will's already got one, but I might have to grab one myself - you know, just because.
GamesProgrammer says: Fatal Fury City of Wolves is £17 which is cheaper than the PSN sale right now
Good shout! Here's the direct link to the Fatal Fury: City of Wolves deal on Amazon.
T4nsorFail says: EG, I know you kind of have to live off of commissions, but a liveblog of an amazon sale is a bit much isn't it?
I don't think it's taking over a huge swathe of the homepage, and with Twitter circling the drain, this seems like the best way to post quick updates and answer questions. And we'll be covering stuff outside of Amazon as well, as other retailers often do their own competing sales. Does that feel reasonable?
In terms of non-Amazon deals, it's a good time to pick up a refurb Android smartphone. I spent a huge amount of time researching this for myself, and ended up with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL as the two stand-out options. The latter is currently discounted in refurb - good condition at Clove, where you can pick one up for £500.
If you prefer a Samsung, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is £779 with a £20 off voucher at Ebay in refurbished - excellent condition. I ended up with one of these, and it turned up with a free case, nary a scratch and 100 percent battery health.
GamesProgrammer says: Im looking for recommendations on cheap laptops or mini PCs as I have 2 kids going to college.
Right - here are some options I've found from Amazon and other retailers offering Prime-style deals:
- GMKtec Nucbox M5 Plus - £259 - Amazon - GMKtec is quite a trusted brand in this space, and this sub-£300 mini PC offers an eight core Ryzen processor for decently snappy performance plus 16GB RAM for multi-tasking and 512GB of SSD storage. It also has a modicum of ports with four USB-As, a USB-C, dual Ethernet and more.
- Asus Vivobook 14 X - £349 - Currys - this 14-inch Asus option's got 16GB of RAM and a decent 512GB SSD inside plus a 10-core/12-thread processor that should be zippy for productivity tasks plus up to 12 hours of endurance
- Asus Zenbook A14 - £699 - Amazon - the Zenbook A14 is a little more of a premium choice with a dazzling OLED screen, but it's supremely thin and light at under 1kg, plus its Snapdragon processor is nippier than you'd think. It's also got some of the best endurance of any laptop I've tested, lasting for virtually a full day on a charge.
- If you're happy to go away from Windows, the M4 Mac Mini deal below is a sublime one for the £500 or so asking price - it's powerful for everything from productivity to content creation loads, has decent ports, and is tiny. You are missing out on capacious internal storage, though, as it's the base model.
Rogueywon says: I think we can compromise and agree that the liveblog is reasonable on one condition... full sized keyboards only! No miniature toy ones.
This bright pink Glorious GMMK 2 in 96% ISO UK layout for £42 ought to do the trick...it is also hot-swappable, mechanical and RGB backlit :)
Rogueywon says: Actually, on a serious point, Secret Lab have been running a pretty good sale on most of their line for the last few days. I got one of their Titan Evo chairs for £100 off (replacement for one I got pre-pandemic that has seen better days) and have just finished building it. Sale ends tomorrow.
Great point. We tried the Secret Lab Titan Evo as well and really liked it. Their early Black Friday sale looks promising, with some fairly deep discounts and (I think) a further £20 off for signing up to their newsletter. Definitely worth a look if you're replacing a tired office or gaming chair!
This 240Hz Asus OLED gaming monitor is £200 off for Prime Day

One of the best gaming monitor deals we've spotted has been for this 240Hz Asus OLED, which is £449 after a £200 discount. I really rate Asus' OLED monitors, having tested quite a few, and this one is one of the very few on the market to come with a rich, glossy coating.
Rpt81 says: They've got some of those supposedly pre-loaded retro consoles on deals, but as with a lot of potentially dodgy things the 1-star reviews tend to give me pause to think. Anybody here have any experience of them?
Yeah, they can be a bit dodgy - anything that arrives with ROMs pre-downloaded is probably not going to care about shipping with a safe operating system, and even if 99 percent of them are fine, I'd still recommend getting something from a big name. For example, the Analogue Pocket isn't cheap, but it does offer real quality.
PS5 Digital Edition - £100 off at John Lewis

Bobby B says: ps5 digital 100 off at john lewis--329
Good spot! Here's the direct link to the John Lewis PS5 Digital (slim edition) deal, which is £100 off the regular price. It's worth bearing in mind that you can pick up Sony's attachable Blu-ray drive for £70 if you want one.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT for £557.99 (10% off)

If you're after a high-end graphics card, I'd honestly consider AMD these days, thanks to the huge gains they've made in RT performance this generation - and the arrival of FSR 4 upscaling. The RX 9070 XT 16GB is your best option here, with an easy-to-recommend Sapphire Pulse model currently at £557.99 - a new all-time low and 10 percent off RRP.
Get a used Xbox Series X for £328

After an Xbox Series X? If you're a Prime member, you can get an extra 20 percent off used models at checkout. That means you can get a Used - Excellent model for £338 or a Used - Very Good model for £328.
Be sure to check the "other sellers" section and select the condition you're interested in with "Amazon Resale" listed as the seller.
Deals on the two pieces of technology in my old car
There are two bits of modern technology in my 2009 car: a Viofo dashcam and a wireless CarPlay/Android Auto screen from CarpodGo.
The Viofo A119 is a dead-simple dash cam to install, but provides a nice clear view forward, records at 60fps and has a screen to change settings and check its view. It's currently £88 for Prime Day, versus £109 normally.

The CarpodGo T3 Pro is also discounted. I got this recently and love it, because unlike most of its competitors, its interface is smartly designed and actively updated. You get a nine-inch 1920x720 60fps screen, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, a modern chipset and a lot of useful extras, such as multiple mounting options and even a reversing camera. It's £175.99 when you use the voucher on the product page.

Take your pick on these three Sony headphone Prime Day deals

After a slick set of Sony headphones? Reece has rounded up the three best options, from a deeply discounted older flagship to what is genuinely the best option in a super competitive field.
Upgrade your PC or PS5 with this huge Samsung 990 Pro SSD

If you're after a huge but speedy SSD, the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB has been cut down from its normal price of £270 to just £228. This is the fastest PCIe 4.0 drive we've ever tested, and works well in both PC and PS5. As well as being a top gaming choice, we also use these in our work machines as the inclusion of TLC NAND and a DRAM cache means much better sustained performance.
Pausing for now - with the final Prime day to come on Wednesday!
We'll call things there, but we'll be back bright and early tomorrow with more tech and gaming deals as we discover them. Thanks for joining us on the liveblog, I appreciate all of the comments that have been sent in.
In the meantime, if you're after something specific, why not let us know in the comments and we'll have some recommendations ready for you - maybe even later tonight if our schedules allow.
The infamous Logitech MX Master 2S Prime Day deal is gone - long live the MX Master 3S

ICYMI - the infamous Logitech MX Master 2S deal that was standard-issue every Prime Day in recent times has gone.
With the release of the MX Master 4 last week, Amazon is now discounting the newer MX Master 3S to £80 for the big Prime Day bonanza. A seriously capable office mouse with an 8K DPI sensor, solid connectivity, and decent endurance.
This 512GB SanDisk Ultra Micro SD card has hit £30 for Prime Day

ICYMI - we also spotted a handy discount on this capacious 512GB SanDisk Ultra Micro SD card for £30 from the big online retailer. Okay, it isn't an all time low price, but it's still a decent deal.
It's decently speed and offers a large storage benefit over smaller cards of its kind, and should play nicely with everything from handheld games consoles to music players and action cameras. I've got two or three of these knocking around, and they've been very handy.
Quickfire round: PC components
If you're considering a PC build, here are some quick-fire recommendations for you.
- If you're after more PC or PS5 storage, the WD SN7100 is one of the best value gaming NVMe SSDs we've tested. It maxes out the PCIe 4.0 standard while costing only £99.99 for 2TB following a 25 percent discount.
- If you need a physically smaller 2230 NVMe drive to upgrade a Steam Deck or ROG Ally, the WD SN770M 2TB is £127 after a 31 percent discount.
- The Thermalright Assassin X 120R SE Plus CPU cooler is a strong performer for peanuts, and it's down from £19 to £14 for Prime Day.
- Want a CPU for that cooler? The Core Ultra 265K offers much better power efficiency and thermals than past Intel CPUs, while still delivering a good level of performance across 20 cores. It's £226, down from £266.
- The RX 9060 XT 16GB offers RTX 5060 Ti levels of performance and plenty of VRAM at a lower price, and this Sapphire Nitro+ model is down to £328 at Amazon versus an RRP of £379.
Our top gaming laptop choice is £250 off for Prime Day

The Lenovo Legion 5 is our go-to recommendation when it comes to gaming laptops, thanks to a mature design, high-end 15-inch OLED display and powerful hardware. Currently a model with an RTX 5070 graphics card, Core i7 13650HX processor, 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD is £250 off for Prime Day, dropping it to a reasonable £1299.99. That's a great price for a laptop that's able to comfortably handle modern games, whether they're graphically intensive single-player adventrures or multiplayer titles that benefit from high frame-rates.
The best ultra-wide gaming monitor deal of October Prime Day

Ultra-wide monitors offer an unbeatable sense of immersion, and now models with high-end QD-OLED panels are replacing older LCD screen types like VA or IPS. That means a huge upgrade in terms of contrast, colour reproduction, viewing angles and motion clarity.
The best ultra-wide gaming monitor deal we've spotted so far is on just such a monitor, the Alienware AW3425DW. This 34-inch screen has a 3440x1440 resolution, 240Hz refresh rate and an impressive HDR True Black 400 certification. It's currently down to £609, £40 cheaper than it's ever been before and £120 cheaper than it cost when it debuted this summer.
Apple's AirPods 2 Pro are 10 percent off for Prime Day, £179 down from £199. I don't get on with the regular AirPods, but the noise cancelling and fit that these provide suit me a lot better.
Any requests?

Prime Day has made this vertical Logitech Lift mouse virtually half price

The Logitech Lift is an excellent affordable vertical mouse that can help for ergonomics if you suffer with any wrist pain or RSI-type injuries by putting your hand into a more natural position known as the 'handshake position' in an attempt to help relieve pain.
It also has convenient wireless connectivity and a zippy 4000 DPI sensor that works well for office duties. For £37 or so, it's a bargain.
This legendary racing wheel is 34 percent off for Prime Day on Amazon

Or, for another handy Logitech discount - the legendary G29 racing wheel and pedals set is 34 percent off in a Prime Day deal that takes it down to £170.
This is a wheel I've used on and off for nearly the last decade and was my first entry point into sim-racing. For the price, you get a well-appointed wheel with a comfortable rim, sensible button placement and decently detailed gear-based force feedback. You also get 900 degrees of wheel rotation on offer for lots of control, plus the fact you get a dedicated clutch pedal is handy for H-pattern vehicles.
Small N.B. - to get the most out of that clutch pedal with H-pattern shifter vehicles, I feel obliged to say that the associated shifter accessory is just £24 from Amazon, which is a bargain in itself.
Zombie-Hamster says: Not the deepest deal in the world but EE currently have the PS5 Pro down at £645. £715 with disc drive. Due to a combination of FOMO, peer pressure and an apparent complete lack of will power, I just ordered one. I tell myself it's ok because I'll sell my PS5, Xbox Series S and Switch 1... 😅
A familiar story! Here's the link to the EE PS5 Pro deal.
Here's Reece with a write-up of why we both like the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headset so much - and how much it's discounted for Prime Day. (Hint: the new Arctis Elite is now just about three times the price.)
One of our favourite affordable NASes is under £250 for Prime Day in the UK

The UGreen NASync DXP2800 is one of our favourite NAS options for beginners, offering a convenient 2-bay setup with tooless drive installation plus easy setup directly from a mobile app that can have you up and running in under 15 minutes in our experience.
With its Intel N100 chip inside and 8GB of DDR5 RAM inside, it's well-suited to holding a Plex server and dealing with transcoding workloads, plus with Ugreen's UGOS being based on Debian 12 Linux, there is a lot more to get your teeth stuck into if you wish. £248 for this feels like a great price.
You might want some storage to pair with that NAS...
Of course, if you go for the NAS below, then having some storage to put inside is likely to be useful. These 8TB Seagate Ironwolf options are quite well-regarded, balancing capacity and price quite well with this discount in mind - £158 feels quite reasonable for them.
Fancy an ice cream? This isn't really tech, but the Ninja Swirl is 25 percent off for October Prime Day. I have the much more basic Ninja Creami Breeze and it's been used pretty regularly, so I trust Reece's recommendation here.

Our choice for the best gaming earbuds, the SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds, are also discounted in this last-gasp Prime Day deal. They're normally around £150, but today you can pick them up for £113.
That's going to just about do it for us. Thanks for joining us in the deals trenches once again, and we'll be back again for Black Friday. Cheers!
