Shiny Aron is available in Pokémon Go!

Released in January 2018, shiny Aron has been available in Pokémon Go for a very long time, which means shiny Aggron can be collected too.

With that in mind, let's take a look at what shiny Aron look like and Aron's perfect IV stats in Pokémon Go.

Is Aron shiny in Pokémon Go?

Yes, Aron can be shiny in Pokémon Go!

Shiny Aron, was released in January 2018 alongeside the release of Hoenn's Ground and Rock-type Pokémon.

Although Aron hasn't had a Community Day event yet, it has been around long enough, and been in enough events that it is a fairly common shiny. If you're missing one, there's a good chance that one of your high-level friends can trade you one!

What do shiny Aron look like?

Shiny Aron has two real changes, but the most obvious is its eye turning from blue to red. Confusingly, this is the main change for Shadow Pokémon (barring the purple aura, of course), so if you ever spot a Shadow Aron you think is shiny, look for the other telltale change: its green belly.

These changes are both conserved throughout the full evolution chain - shiny Lairon and shiny Aggron both swap their grey/black body for a dark metallic green, while keeping the red eyes.

It isn't until we get to Shiny Mega Aggron that we get another change - on top of the other two colour swaps, it changes its silver/white plating for a shade of cream/pale straw that complements the green nicely!

All in all, this shiny line is a little uninspired... at least it isn't the usual shade of radioactive vomit that we get with green shinies!

How to get shiny Aron and perfect IV stats

Shiny Aggron

Whether you can find Aron in the wild depends on the season - the in-game event season that is - and what is spawning. If you’re lucky, a one-off event such a Spotlight Hour or Go Tour may feature Aron, giving you a chance to go shiny hunting. That said, unless those events specifically state that you can get a shiny Aron, you’re just going to have to rely on dumb luck.

This means walking and clicking on every Aron you see. The average shiny rate for a non-boosted Pokémon is around 1/500, meaning that for every 500 Aron you see, one is probably going to be shiny. If you check your Pokédex and seen you have 499 encounters, however, that doesn’t mean your next one is a guaranteed shiny - that’s not how maths works.

Good luck if you're trying for a shiny - that's a lot of Iron Armor Pokémon to check!

Make sure you know the October event and raid schedule. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.

Aron 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go

Shiny Mega Aggron

When talking about a Aron with 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go, you're looking for one with 15/15/15 stats to create a maxed out, 100% IV Pokémon, for your 4* Pokédex, raids and the Master League.

If you're looking in the wild and are at least Level 30 (or above), you'll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Aron:

  • Level 30 (wild CP maximum) - 580 CP
  • Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) - 629 CP

The wild CP value aligns with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30 and, due to the majority of the player base now being above this level, we've kept to these values for the sake of simplicity. These values will, however, be different if you're currently below Level 30.
