Borderlands 4 best Amon build
The best builds for all Amon action skills.

Picking the best Amon build in Borderlands 4 will entirely depend on how you want to play as him, what action skills you want to use and whether or not you'll rely on melee combat.
Amon is a character we recommend for solo players in Borderlands 4. He's the token tank character whose Onslaught action skill, shields, and other defensive capabilities help you if you run alone.
On that note, here are our recommendations for the best Amon build in Borderlands 4, covering the best overall Amon build and the best build for each Amon action skill.

Borderlands 4 best Amon build

Our recommendation for the overall best Amon build is the Ordnance and Melee build which mainly focuses on his offensive strategy and damage output. As Amon is strong in defense, this build aims to cover his weaker areas to give him a solid all-round strength.
This build also gives you a lot of freedom when deciding what weapons and gear to use, just try to make sure you're boosting your overall health and damage boosts where you can. For example, skill to aim to have is the Ancient Ways one, and others that boost your Cryo Damage.
You can find out more about this build in our best builds guide.
Borderlands 4 best Amon Scourge build
Our pick for the best Amon Scourge build is actually the Ordnance and Melee build we've mentioned above. Of course, to begin this build you need to equip the Scourge action skill, and alongside this use the Eternal Waves augment. This augment allows Forgewave to partially restore Firewall and action skill duration. This can be activated three times, on the third onea 'massive' Forgewave will be released that deals higher damage.
The majority of this build will happen on the Venegeance and Calamity skill trees. You can still spend skill points on the Cybernetics tree, but try to focus on ones that boost Cryo damage and health recovery.
You'll want to focus on any elemental damage boosting, specifically Cryo damage boosting, skills in this build as Cryo is the damage type this action skill inflicts. The Ice Rage passive on the Vengeance skill tree is one to aim for. This kill skill grants a stack of Cryo affinity for a duration when killing an enemy with Cryo damage. Cryo Affinity stacks grant increased gun damage. Seeing as Cryo damage is the main type from your action skill, this can be a lucrative skill to have.
Also, on the Calamity tree you should look for skills that boost status effect damage like Wield the Storm. Titanium Knuckles is another skill on this tree worth gathering, only this boosts melee damage instead.

Borderlands 4 best Amon Onslaughter build
Our recommendation for the best Amon Onslaughter build is the Hoarcleave build, and for this one you're aiming to equip the Hoarcleave capstone. Now, while this will take a bit of patience to get to, there are still plenty of ways to strengthen Amon with this build that all happens on the Calamity tree.
Of course, to start this build off you'll need to equip the Onslaught action skill, and alongside this apply the Pyoclast augment to begin with. This augment fully restores Amon's health and shield when Onslaughter is activated, on top of this he's then surrounded by a Forgestorm that deals Incendiary Status Effect damage to nearby enemies. On top of this, it has a kill skill - killing enemies inside of Forgestorm restores action skill duration and increases Forgestorm damage. Phew that's a lot.
When you progress further down the tree you can switch to the Fellfrost augment instead. This is activated when pressing your action skill instantly after a Rocket Punch. Amon will deal a follow-up attack, dealing Cryo Melee attack damage in a large area in front of him and any non-boss enemies below 25% health will be killed. It's essentially a very strong AOE attack.

Shields are key to a good, strong, useable Onslaughter build so make sure you keep picking out and swapping out any shields that are higher than the one you're currently carrying. For example, the Capacity Shield increases your overall shield capacity by half.
Now, for this build you'll want to choose skills that boost shield regeneration speed and movement speed like the Impetus passive as this compliments the Onslaughter action skill. You'll also want to boost Amon's damage output, elemental damage strength and melee damage. Skills such as Harbinger, There is Only Red, and Dragon's Breath are all good ones to aim for. Max these ones out too when you can.
Of course, as a Hoarcleave build, you'll be working towards getting the Hoarcleave capstone. This capstone which turns Molten Slam into Hoarcleave. With this equipped, press and hold the action skill to create and swing a large Forgeaxe that launches a Cryo damage dealing Forgewave which freezes enemies it passes through. Also, any enemy killed by Hoarcleave will detonate and deal more Cryo damage.

Borderlands 4 best Amon Crucible build
Our recommendation for the best Amon Crucible build is the Snowmaul build, where you'll be working towards gaining and using the Snowmaul capstone. Of course, to start this build you need to equip the Crucible action skill. Alongside that we recommend starting with the Axe and Stone augment, then moving to the Hour of the Hammer augment when you're further along in your build.
The majority of this build happens on the Cybernetics skill tree where you can find elemental, melee, detonation, critical hit boosts. Early in the build you'll ideally want to focus on increasing Amon's elemental damage with skills like the Gathering Storm passive kill skill. Tempered Pyre is a Forgedrone skill you can get quite early in the tree, it lets you spawn an Axe Forgedrone when Amon activates his Forgeskill that will attack nearby enemies by dealing Incendiary Melee Damage. Also, activating a Forgeskill while Tempered Pyre is active will fully restore the duration of all currently active Forgedrones.
Once you get further along the skill tree, you can start branching out more but remember you want skills that boost your Forgedrones like Escalation, Tempered Lightning and Tempered Ice.
Of course, for this build, you'll be aiming to get the Snowmaul capstone that turns Dual-Edge into Snowmaul. To make the most of this capstone, press and hold your action skill to throw a twinned Forgehammer that deals Cryo damage on impact then ricochets between enemies up to three times if they're close enough. No extra targets close by? No problem! If it doesn't ricochet, then it deals extra damage before destroying itself and each time it detonates it will ricochet an extra time. This means if you place Amon just right when using this skill, you can easily mow down large groups of enemies with little effort.
