How to respec in Borderlands 4
How to reset skill points, plus respec machine locations.
You can respec in Borderlands 4 if you want to try out a new build to either beat a tricky opponent, or simply try out a new way of playing with your chosen Vault Hunter.
As you progress through Borderlands 4 you'll earn skill points to use on your skill trees, and respeccing gives you another opportunity to spend them (for a price). However, you need to be a lil patient at first as the respec tools aren't available right away.

How to respec in Borderlands 4
To respec in Borderlands 4 you need to find a respec machine and pay up to reset your skill points. Now, this isn't available right away, you must start the third main story mission 'Down and Outbound' and reach the point you enter the Outbound Base to unlock the first respec machine above ground.
Once you've done this, you can visit a respec machine to pay to respec your character build. When you get close to a respec machine, you will be shown the price of respeccing - the price will vary each time.
If you're happy with the cost, interact with the machine to pay up and you'll enter the skill menu. Fortunately, once you're here, you can change your skill point distribution as much as you want to create a build you like - the only rule is that once you leave the machine your choices will be set, and you'll need to pay again if you want to change anything.
To refund your skill points at the respec machine you need to use the indicated commands in the bottom right corner of your screen.
The 'Respec All' option will reset all of your skill points, clearing your current builds across the different skill trees to refund all your skill points. The 'Respec Tree' option will just respec the tree you're currently on, leaving your other trees nice and safe.
Once you've respecced either all trees or just the one, you'll have your skill points back to redistributed however you want to until you exit the machine.
