Pokémon Go Mega Gardevoir weaknesses, counters and moveset explained
How to beat the Mega version of Gardevoir.

Mega Gardevoir, the Mega Evolution of the Embrace Pokémon, is available in Pokémon Go.
Released in Pokémon Go as part of 2023's Valentine's Day Event, this Gen 3 Pokémon is well worth getting your hands on. It's the strongest Fairy-type Pokémon in the game making it premier anti-Dragon tech, and easily a top-five Psychic-type, too.
Like all Mega Evolutions, you can't simply transform Gardevoir into its Mega form. Instead, you'll need to defeat it in Mega Raids until you've collected enough Mega Gardevoir Energy. So let's take a look at Mega Gardevoir's counters and weaknesses in Pokémon Go!
On this Page:
Mega Gardevoir counters and weaknesses in Pokémon Go

You can see Mega Gardevoir's weaknesses below, as well as some recommended counters to help you defeat them:
- Mega Gardevoir type - Psychic and Fairy.
- Mega Gardevoir weakness - Steel, Ghost, and Poison-type attacks.
- Mega Gardevoir Mega counters - Mega Gengar is really the only thing worth considering...
- Mega Gardevoir non-counters - Crowned Sword/Shield Zacian/Zamazenta are easily your top two attackers. Mega Gengar doesn't even come close. If you have a team of six comprising these two, don't even bother with a Mega Pokémon. Failing that, you're looking at Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma before Mega Gengar. After that we're onto our budget picks: Metagross, Eternatus, Lunala, Dialga and Nihilego.

- Tactics - Work your way down the counters list above - your Mega options are pretty bad if you're an experienced player. Be aware that even with optimal counters, you're aiming for 4-6 players, with three at a bare minimum.
Mega Gardevoir CP in Pokémon Go
Here are all of the Mega Gardevoir CP values you can expect from Raids in Pokémon Go:
- Raid Boss CP - 50,532 CP.
- CP range when being caught - 1,688 - 1,767 CP.
- Weather boosted CP (Cloudy and Windy) when caught - 2,110 - 2,209 CP.
Make sure you know the October event and raid schedule. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.
Best Mega Gardevoir Moveset in Pokémon Go
Technically speaking, Mega Gardevoir's best moveset is Confusion and Psychic, but both of these are Psychic-type moves. If you're using this Pokémon properly, you're using it to punch Dragons, meaning you want Charm and Dazzling Gleam. This will make short work of Dragon-type raids.

Below you'll find Gardevoir's full moveset in Pokémon Go:
Fast Moves:
- Charge Beam (Electric)
- Charm (Fairy)
- Confusion (Psychic)
- Magical Leaf (Grass)
Charged Moves:
- Dazzling Gleam (Fairy)
- Psychic (Psychic)
- Triple Axel (Ice)
- Shadow Ball (Ghost)
- Sychronoise (Psychic)
Everything we know about Gardevoir
Gardevoir is an impressive Pokémon for multiple reasons - first and foremost it is part of the only family with two branching evolutions ending in Mega Pokémon. Ralts, the Feeling Pokémon, evolves into Kirlia, which evolves into either Gardevoir or Gallade. The fact that both final evolutions can Mega Evolve is unique, though Mega Gallade is admittedly much weaker in the grand scheme of things.
This Pokémon is inextricably linked with Gallade, of course. Gardevoir and Gallade are the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 518, and Mega Gardevoir and Mega Gallade are the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 618. They're also uniquely the only Pokémon in the Amorphous and Human-Like Egg Groups in the main-series games.
While they are very similar in many ways, they are also opposites. Gardevoir (despite being both male and female) is feminine, based on a knight in a ballroom dress, while Gallade is a male-only masculine knight. Gardevoir's Attack and Special Attack stats are the reverse of Gallade's. Speaking of, Mega Gardevoir has the highest base Special Attack stat of all Fairy-type Pokémon, which explains why it is so incredibly strong...
But its power comes from more than just its stats, as you can see in the official Pokédex entries below:
- Ralts: 'The horns on its head provide a strong power that enables it to sense people’s emotions. It is highly attuned to the emotions of people and Pokémon. It hides if it senses hostility.'
- Kirlia: 'The cheerful spirit of its Trainer gives it energy for its psychokinetic power. It spins and dances when happy. It has a psychic power that enables it to distort the space around it and see into the future.'
- Gardevoir: 'To protect its Trainer, it will expend all its psychic power to create a small black hole. It unleashes psychokinetic energy at full power when protecting a Trainer it has bonded closely with.'
- Mega Gardevoir: 'Gardevoir has the ability to read the future. If it senses impending danger to its Trainer, this Pokémon is said to unleash its psychokinetic energy at full power. Gardevoir has the psychokinetic power to distort the dimensions and create a small black hole. This Pokémon will try to protect its Trainer even at the risk of its own life.'
That is not a Pokémon you want to cross...

It's also good to know that shiny Ralts is in the game, which means that shiny Mega Gardevoir is in the game too! You can compare the shinies below.
