Okay, the Core i7-13650HX inside this laptop might be a couple of generations old in Intel terms, but it's still a decent processor for gaming and content creation with its 14 cores and 20 threads that should give it plenty of grunt. Paired with an RTX 5070 means you should be able to take advantage of the 165Hz panel that this laptop has, combined with its 2560x1600 (or WQXGA) resolution screen for strong detail and smooth motion, whether that's thanks to raw power or with the advantage of DLSS4 upscaling.

Elsewhere, 32GB of RAM is more than enough headroom for intensive gaming and proper multitasking, and a 1TB SSD gives you good storage for a burgeoning game library and selection of apps. A 15-inch OLED panel gives you a pleasant amount of screen real estate combined with good detail, deep blacks and immense dynamic range we've come to expect from top-class OLED panels to make both work and play a real pleasure.

This comes in a laptop with a pleasant all-black chassis plus a competent port selection featuring everything from USB-C and USB-A to Ethernet for wired networking. You also get a virtual full-size keyboard complete with RGB backlighting and a sizeable trackpad, plus a lay-flat hinge if you want to use this Legion 5 for more collaborative work purposes.

If you want to nab a beefy mid-range gaming laptop at a decent discount, this Lenovo Legion 5 for £250 off for Prime Day is great.
