Silent Hill f My Room puzzle solution
First things first, before we can kick off the brunt of the My Room puzzle in Silent Hill f, you’ll need to collect three Crests that are found throughout Hinako’s sizeable home, and you are likely to collect them in the following order:
- Scales Crest: Solve the Scales puzzle located in Shimizu Residence II.
- White Bird and Fox Crest: Solve the Ominous Photo puzzle located in Shimizu Residence I.
- Black Bird and Sword Crest: Examine the bookcase in Hinako’s room in Shimizu Residence III to receive the Block of Wax, and retrieve the Propane Tube from the kitchen there. Return to the kitchen of Shimuzu Residence I and place the Propane Tube, then place the Block of Wax in the pot to receive the Fletching Key. You can use this on the locked door with the bird symbol in Shimuzu Residence III to retrieve the third and final Crest.
If you then return to the lock on Hinako’s bedroom door, the Crests will be automatically placed, albeit not in the correct order. You’ll also likely notice that the Crests can be turned over, but the Scales Crest and the Crest that was already in the door – which is known as the Heaven Crest – have nothing on the other side of them.

Investigate the scroll on the wall to the right of the lock to receive a hint as to how to solve this puzzle.
From what I’ve been able to gather (thanks to friends at IGN) and my own gameplay, the hints here are the same for all difficulties; it’s the ending you’re heading towards that has the most bearing on how the puzzle plays out. Please let us know if you find more ways of solving this puzzle, however!

We’ve detailed all known solutions below, but at the time of writing, all ending conditions – and how puzzles may vary as a result of them – are still being tested.
Note that there are ending name spoilers ahead, but I have not expanded on what these endings entail.
My Room puzzle - Ending 1 solution
Ending 1 refers to the Coming Home to Roost ending of Silent Hill f, which is the ending all players will get first. Additional endings are only available on New Game Plus.
- Ending 1 Hint: ‘The Sword and the Fox fought, battling upon a set of scales. The heavens themselves shuddered at the ferocity of their struggle. Day after day, the sun rose behind the Fox's back and set behind the Sword's; yet their fight knew no end. The scales upon which they fought, however, were no more, having been destroyed long ago.’
- Ending 1 Solution: Sword on the left, Fox on the right, Scales – turned to the blank face – on the bottom, and Heavens on top.
My Room puzzle - Ending 2 solution
Ending 2 refers to the Fox’s Wedding ending of Silent Hill f, which is only available in New Game Plus.
- Ending 2 Hint: ‘The Sword and the Fox fought, battling upon a set of scales. After a long and vicious fight, the Sword was defeated, and the Fox reigned supreme. Taking the Black Bird’s right hand, the Fox showed her the scales in his other hand. Now, you must choose, Black Bird. Have you made a decision? Upon one side of the scales was the Fox, and on the other, nothing.’
- Ending 2 Solution: Place the Scales on the left, the Fox on the top, the Black Bird on the right, and Heaven – turned to the blank face – on the bottom.
My Room - Ending 3 solution
Ending 3 refers to The Fox Wets Its Tail ending of Silent Hill f, which is only available in New Game Plus.
- Ending 3 Hint: ‘The Sword and the Fox fought, battling upon a set of scales. After a long and vicious fight, the Fox fell to the Sword. In the aftermath, their seal upon the land vanished without a trace. The Sword raises itself heavenward, the scales now dedicated to the rising sun. Now go, White Bird. Fly away and never come back! The White Bird took to the air and flew towards the horizon, becoming a silhouette against the setting sun. Now, nothing remained upon the land.’
- Ending 3 Solution: White Bird on the left, Scales on the right, Sword on top, and Heaven – turned to the blank face – on the bottom.
My Room - Ending 4 solution
Ending 4 refers to the Ebisugaoka in Silence ending of Silent Hill f, which is only available in New Game Plus.
- Ending 4 Hint: ‘White and Black fought, battling upon a set of scales. Yet neither wanted for the scales, for what they desired was simply a quiet, gray place where they could belong together. Whether we flee or spread our wings and fly is our decision alone - one to make only once we are ready. They had no use for those who towered from the heavens, imposing their will on others.’
- Ending 4 Solution: White Bird on the left, Black Bird on the right, Scales – turned to the blank face – on top, and Heaven on the bottom.
Good luck with solving the My Room puzzle in Silent Hill f!
