Silent Hill f walkthrough and tips
All of our Silent Hill f guides in one place.

Silent Hill f for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is a true Japanese survival horror game, finding inspiration in the country's folklore and traditions.
Set in 1960s Japan, Silent Hill f follows Hinako who finds herself trapped in some spooky events when her rural village, Ebisugaoka, is enveloped in a mysterious fog. Hinako's journey is, of course, filled with puzzles and monsters! Down below you'll find our Silent Hill f walkthrough where we'll help you solve each one. Just be wary of spoilers!
If you're still unsure about visiting Ebisugaoka, then check out Eurogamer's Silent Hill f review.

Silent Hill f tips and tricks
Want some extra help in Silent Hill f? Well here's are top tips:
- Be careful when targeting enemies. Despite being a great game, the camera in Silent Hill f is a little dodgy especially when it comes to targeting enemies. I've had the camera suddenly send itself to a strange angle or accidentally switched to the wrong enemy. The only way to get around this is to simply get used to Silent Hill f's camera, but it's worth taking note of before you play.
- Check the map often. Hinako will helpfully add useful annotations to the map as you play Silent Hill f. This includes noting down which buildings are locked, blocked paths and, on rare occasions, areas of interest. If you think there's something important around you, then it's worth checking the map to see if Hinako has already made a note of its location. It will never tell you exactly where it is, but it will give you a good idea on where to look.
- Use your Toolkits. Weapon durability is back! The more you hit monsters with a metal pipe, the more likely it is to break and you don't want that! Thankfully, there are Toolkits which will repair your weapons and, trust me, you'll want to use them. Exploring Silent Hill f without a weapon isn't a good idea, especially since there are bosses you need to fight. Keep an eye on the crescent moon symbol in the bottom left-hand corner as this tracks your current weapon's durability and, when the time is right, repair it. Else Hinako might end up a little dead…

- Puzzles have different solutions depending on your difficulty setting. In keeping with Silent Hill tradition, a number of puzzles have different solutions depending on your difficulty setting. If you're solving our puzzle guides above, make sure you're looking at the right solution for your difficulty setting. Keep in mind that, if you're having trouble with the puzzles, you can always start a new playthrough on a different difficulty. Thankfully, Silent Hill f isn't too long.
- Some puzzles only need to be solved once. There are a couple of puzzles, however, that only need to be solved once on a save file to be completed for your other playthroughs. Keep in mind that these puzzles are the ones tied to specific endings, but it's still quite useful if you're trying to see every Silent Hill f ending.
- You can avoid enemies by hiding from them. Don't want to fight a foe? Well if you can find a good hiding spot for Hinako, then the monster will forget about her and go about their business. Just keep in mind that the hiding spot needs to take Hinako out of the monster's eyeline to work so, if it's still looking at you, then it can still attack you.
- Walk, don't run. (Unless a monster is around!) Admittedly, Hinako is quite a slow walker but taking the time to go slowly will help you spot useful items and maybe avoid walking into something which could hurt you. Just remember to run if a monster is coming for you…

- Don't worry about the ending on your first playthrough. No matter what you do during your first playthrough, you will always reach the same ending. It's only after unlocking this ending that you'll be able to access the other Silent Hill f endings. Due to this, simply relax (as much as you can during a horror game) and enjoy the game!
- Don't use Red Capsules in any other playthrough. I won't go into any major details about ending requirements here, but I will say that, if you want to see any of the other Silent Hill f endings, you need to avoid using the Red Capsules. This means you'll have to heal Hinako using other items, so try to remember their locations!
- Want a good weapon? Complete the UFO ending! Yes, the UFO ending is the joke ending of Silent Hill f but you will get a good bonus for completing it. This comes in the form of a weapon that you'll access to on every playthrough after viewing the UFO ending. Due to this, it's worth completing the UFO ending early if you're having trouble with the combat in Silent Hill f.
- Want to keep track of which endings you've seen? Look at your save file. Everytime you complete an ending, a little icon will be added to your save file in the main menu. This is a good way of keeping track of how many endings you've completed - very useful if you want to see everything Silent Hill f has to offer.
Best of luck in Silent Hill f!
