How to upgrade Hunter Crest in Silksong
Here’s how to upgrade the Hunter Crest in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Did you know that you can upgrade the Hunter Crest in Hollow Knight: Silksong? The Hunter Crest is what Hornet first starts out with in Silksong, meaning you’ll no doubt swap it out for other Crests you find in the meantime, but you can eventually upgrade this default Crest if you do some exploring.
You won’t be able to upgrade the Hunter Crest until you’re deep into Act 1, so bear that in mind. When you’re ready to grab it, here’s how to upgrade the Hunter Crest in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
How to upgrade Hunter Crest in Silksong
To upgrade the Hunter Crest in Silksong, you must first make sure you have defeated Widow in Bellhart and unlocked the Needolin. This is because the Hunter Crest upgrade is inside one of Pharloom’s Weavenests and these areas are locked behind Needolin doors.
Once you do have the Needolin available, you want to venture down to Weavenest Atla to speak to Eva, which is accessible via Bone Bottom and Moss Grotto. The route from Bone Bottom to Eva in Weavenest Atla is labeled on the below map:

Upon arriving at the door leading to Weavenest Atla, you must play your Needolin to proceed. Once inside, keep far right until you come to a room with two lanterns (pictured below).

Attack the two lanterns and the structure in the room on your left will now provide you with a map of the area. The elevator in the room to the left of the map – which you will have run past – will now also be working.
Stand on the elevator platform to be sent deeper into Weavenest Atla.
At the bottom of the elevator, you will find a Bench in the room to your left to rest at. To the right of the elevator, there’ll be a wall you can destroy. Keep right, continuing to attack the walls, until you eventually come to a structure you can speak to; this is Eva.

Keep speaking to Eva and when she offers, select ‘Yes’ to ‘Allow Insight’. This is what bags you the first Hunter Crest upgrade, whose description reads ‘strike enemies repeatedly to build focus and once focused, needle attacks will become deadlier’.
If you return to Eva after having found four different Crests, she’ll give you the Venticrest. If you then return again after collecting multiple Memory Lockets, she will also offer an upgrade for the Venticrest as well as a second upgrade for the Hunter Crest.
