Take your pick on these three Sony headphone Prime Day deals
Over-ear or in-ear? The choice is yours.

If you've been after a brand new set of noise cancelling headphones, then Prime Day 2025 seems to be an ideal time to pick a set up, especially as we've seen a litany of excellent reductions from Sony.
Here are three of the best I've seen from the Prime Day selection:

Sony WH-1000XM6Now £369.00 (was £399.00) |
The headline here is the brand new WH-1000XM6 over-ears having a subtle £30 discount for the sale, in spite of them only being out for a handful of months. I've been using them for the last few weeks for work and home use, and have found them to be genuine class-leaders for their £369 price tag.
Their foldable chassis returns, which was oddly omitted from the previous generation, meaning they're easier to transport and more portable for it. In addition, the earcups are deep, while the clamping force of the XM6s is a goldilocks feel, so it isn't too heavy or too light. The headphone also provide a tight seal on my hand for some brilliant isolation and active noise cancellation that, in typical Sony fashion, is best-in-class. My only issue with their chassis is that they have a similar soft-touch feel on the earcups that can lead to them looking a little worse for wear after a short period.
The audio of the XM6s is authoritative, with good bass extension and a tight feel to them. They've got plenty of detail across the frequency range, plus an expansive sound for a more immersive touch, which makes for a genuinely lovely sound when I was listening to everything from old American jazz standards to my more usual mix of heavier, progressive rock music with nuances and detail.

Sony WH-1000XM4Now £179.00 (was £229.00) |
For around half the price, you can get Sony's XM4s, which are a couple of generations older than the XM6. They're still immensely popular, and a real bargain at £179. These are foldable, but have a bit of a different look to them against the more minimalistic XM6s, and retain excellent ANC, even in 2025. Their battery life is identical to the XM6s at 30 hours, while their audio is best characterised as having good low-end punch with a robust bass response, while providing a smooth mid-range and detailed top-end, too.

Sony WF-1000XM5Now £179.00 (was £219.00) |
If you'd rather some in-ears, then Sony's WF-1000XM5s (the latest model) are the same £179 price tag as the XM4 over-ears. They come with a much smaller carry case than their predecessor, plus a strong seal for good isolation and the same class-leading ANC as its over-ear counterparts, and up to 24 hours of endurance. The audio is more detailed and airy than with previous Sony earbuds, trading some low-end power. Nonetheless, they provide a rich and detailed soundscape that makes listening a real pleasure.
I hope that's been a helpful endeavour if you've been after some lovely noise cancelling headphones this Prime Day. We've also got our Prime Day liveblog if you want more deals.
