The brand new Logitech MX Master 4 mouse is already discounted at Best Buy in the US

What? Already?

Logitech released their brand new MX Master 4 productivity mouse just last week, bringing upgrades such as haptic feedback and a new chassis that make it the best version of the legend yet.

I wasn't expecting it to be subject to a discount this early on in its life, let alone to $90 from Best Buy. That takes it well below its $120 retail price, and makes it cheaper than the MX Master 3S that's at $120 itself from the retailer.

So, what's new with the MX Master 4? Well, the chassis has been redesigned a little, with the thumb wheel moving slightly upwards while the redesigned left side now features a rubberised pad with haptic feedback and a touch-sensitive button that Logitech calls the 'Actions Ring'. Pressing it causes the pad to vibrate and bring up a sub menu where you can open the file explorer, multimedia controls and so on. You can also set it up with custom commands in Logitech's software alongside its clever suite of options, including Smart Actions productivity macros and Logitech's Flow system for file sharing across paired devices on the same WiFi network.

In addition, the entirely rubberised chassis is gone, being reduced to only the sides of the mouse, with the middle portion replaced with plastic for better durability and less of the horrible long-term shine you got with the older model. For me, this makes the MX Master 4 the most comfortable variant yet, even if the weight has incrementally increased up to 150g. There are also even quieter mouse buttons than its predecessor that remain wonderfully tactile.

The innards haven't really changed, though - the 8000 DPI sensor with Darkfield tracking so it works on virtually any surface is retained, as is the same 125Hz polling rate. It's a zippy mouse for all-day office work, but little more than that - you wouldn't want to use this for any kind of real-time game. The Logi Bolt receiver is now USB-C and Logitech says this mouse benefits from better wireless connectivity owing to a new processor inside the mouse and a repositioned internal antenna. It still connects to up to three devices over Logi Bolt or Bluetooth, and the 70 days of rated endurance hasn't changed either.

If you want to grab a brand new office mouse at a surprising discount, this Best Buy deal on the Logitech MX Master 4 is fantastic.
