Shiny Ferroseed is available in Pokémon Go!

Released in November 2020, shiny Ferroseed has been available in Pokémon Go a good few years, which means shiny Ferrothorn can be collected too.

With that in mind, let's take a look at what shiny Ferroseed look like and Ferroseed's perfect IV stats in Pokémon Go.

Is Ferroseed shiny in Pokémon Go?

Yes, Ferroseed can be shiny in Pokémon Go. Shiny Ferroseed, was released in November 2020 at the start of the Special Weekend November 2020 event. Its evolution, shiny Ferrothorn, was released alongside it.

Although Ferroseed hasn't had a Community Day event yet, it has been around long enough, and been in enough Go Tours and the like that it is an uncommon shiny at best. If you're missing one, there's a good chance that one of your high-level friends can trade you one!

What do shiny Ferroseed look like?

There's only one real change in shiny Ferroseed, is a really cool one. It swaps its greens for a gorgeous shade of steely blue (OK, its greys are slightly lighter, but it's subtle).

Shiny Ferrothorn, however, completely bucks the trend of conserved evolution. Since regular Ferrothorn uses the same colour palette as Ferroseed, you might expect shiny Ferrothorn to be silver and blue. Nope - we're going red and gold. It's a nifty shiny whose colours really pop.

How to get shiny Ferroseed and perfect IV stats

Shiny Ferrothorn

Whether you can find Ferroseed in the wild depends on the season - the in-game event season that is - and what is spawning. If you’re lucky, a one-off event such a Spotlight Hour or Go Tour may feature Ferroseed, giving you a chance to go shiny hunting. That said, unless those events specifically state that you can get a shiny Ferroseed, you’re just going to have to rely on dumb luck.

This means walking and clicking on every Ferroseed you see. The average shiny rate for a non-boosted Pokémon is around 1/500, meaning that for every 500 Ferroseed you see, one is probably going to be shiny. If you check your Pokédex and seen you have 499 encounters, however, that doesn’t mean your next one is a guaranteed shiny - that’s not how maths works.

Good luck if you're trying for a shiny - that's a lot of Pokémon to check!

Make sure you know the October event and raid schedule. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.

Ferroseed 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go

When talking about a Ferroseed with 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go, you're looking for one with 15/15/15 stats to create a maxed out, 100% IV Pokémon, for your 4* Pokédex, raids and the Master League.

If you're looking in the wild and are at least Level 30 (or above), you'll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Ferroseed:

  • Level 30 (wild CP maximum) - 806 CP
  • Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) - 874 CP

The wild CP value aligns with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30 and, due to the majority of the player base now being above this level, we've kept to these values for the sake of simplicity. These values will, however, be different if you're currently below Level 30.
